SeaTrack

Legal

Not for navigation.

SeaTrack shows you where your vessels are and how they’re running. It is not a navigation chart, and it carries no warranty for that use.

SeaTrack’s charts are built from open data: OpenStreetMap, OpenSeaMap, GEBCO and Land Information New Zealand. They are provided for situational awareness only. They are not official nautical charts, they may be incomplete or out of date, and they must not be used for navigation.

Positions and readings come from each vessel’s own instruments, over whatever connection the boat has. They can arrive late or not at all. SeaTrack shows the age of every position so you can judge it, but you should never rely on SeaTrack, or on its alarms, for the safety of a vessel or the people aboard.

Navigate with official charts, proper watchkeeping and the equipment your vessel is required to carry. The sources behind SeaTrack’s charts are credited on the chart data and attributions page.
